(CBS Connecticut) — A state Department of Transportation worker suffered moderate injuries this morning, when a car rear-ended a DOT pickup truck on I-91 near the Hartford-Wethersfield town line.
The worker was in the bed of the truck at the time. He and the driver of the truck were placing cones as part of survey work.
He was thrown out, over a metal beam, and down an embankment, said State Police Sergeant Shane Hassett.
The man is expected to recover.
The driver of the DOT truck and the driver of the car were also taken to the hospital.
Three of the four lanes on I-91 were closed while State Police investigated.
The crash is still under investigation. So far no charges have been filed.
