The Department of Transportation has opened another piece of the construction project designed to make driving on Interstate 95 through New Haven much easier.
A new flyover ramp connecting I-95 northbound to Route 34 opened to traffic at about 3 this morning.
The ramp moves the exit from the left side of the interstate to the right hand side, making for a much smoother flow of traffic.
It is part of a construction project designed to eliminate all left-hand exits on I-95 near the interchange with Interstate 91.
The project also includes widening the highway and replacing the Quinnipiac River Bridge. Groundbreaking on the next phase of the project gets underway later this month.
