Finishing the work ahead of schedule, there will be a ribbon cutting ceremony Friday at the site of the Flatbush Avenue Bridge section of the CTfastrak project on the West Hartford/Hartford line.
Officials with the state Department of Transportation say the section is opening ten days ahead of schedule.
The span consists of four traffic lanes and a pedestrian walkway spanning about 1,100 feet over the Amtrak rail line.
Estimated cost was about $23 million.
Among those expected to be on hand for tomorrow’s ceremony include Lieutenant Governor Nancy Wyman, DOT Commissioner James Redeker and other local and state officials.
The ribbon cutting gets underway at two p.m.
