(Hartford, Conn./CBS Connecticut) – Another round of winter weather has the state Department of Transportation at the ready.
Spokesman Kevin Nursick says by the height of this latest storm, they’ll have a full compliment of vehicles working the snow removal detail, 632 state trucks, as well as 200 contractors if they’re needed.
Nursick says snow removal totals to the point are running about $18 million.
That’s more than half the $30 million in the budget for this year.
However, Nursick says that figure isn’t set in stone and they have flexibility go over, should the situation arise.
Central Connecticut is expected to get anywhere from five-to-nine inches of snow by the time the storm pulls away early tomorrow.
